New York. April 25. – Police is still trying to determine what led a Virginia man to kill his girlfriend at her brother’s Hudson Valley home before turning a gun on himself. But the woman’s relatives said that she refused to marry him because the victim found him too possessive and had a violent temper.
Authorities say 26-year-old Vincent Russo of Ashburn, Virginia, repeatedly shot 22-year-old Ramy Jacildo of the Philippines with a .40-caliber handgun early Saturday morning at the home of Jacildo’s brother in the hamlet of Central Valley, 45 miles north of New York City.
Police say Russo then shot himself in the head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in neighbouring Rockland County.
Officials say Monday that Russo and Jacildo met last year while she was on vacation in Washington, D.C. Police say Russo had travelled to New York on Friday to meet Jacildo’s parents, who were also visiting from the Philippines. Vincent Russo, however, never entered the house.
