. FORMER beauty queen-turned actress Pilar Pilapil was found in a grassy lot in Antipolo City with several knife wounds shortly after she was allegedly dumped by two men who ran away with her car at dawn yesterday.
Pilapil, 60, of Valley 46, Bedson Mansion Condominium, Pasig City, bore at least five stab wounds. She was found by concerned citizens inside Piedra Blanca Subdivision in Barangay San Luis, Antipolo City at 1 a.m., said Rizal Police Provincial Office director Senior Supt. Manuel Prieto.
Responding policemen took Pilapil to the Antipolo District Hospital before transferring her to the Medical City in Pasig City. Her medical condition remained unknown as of press time.
An actress since the early 70s who has
won two best actress awards, Pilapil was the 1967 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe winner.
Pilar Pilapil belongs to a Castillan clan in Liloan, Cebu. Hers is one of the earliest influential families in Liloan. She grew up in Liloan and used to swim with her nine siblings in the whirlpool-filled waters of Suba. The family compound of the Pilapils is just some steps away from where whirlpools and the Suba Bridge are.
