Maximo A. Encomienda, is a man who developed a career using his business acumen that he learned at the University of San Carlos to help create strong community leaders and to improve the lives of the less fortunate.
Implementing what he learned at USC as an ROTC officer about command and supervision, he has taken on important roles in Bachelors-Femina Clubs of Cebu, FILIPINO, Inc., Cebu Metropolitan Lions Club, Mandaue Rotary Club, Cebu Jaycees, Cebu Jaycees Senate. He also founded Metropolitan Cebu Junior Jaycees in 1975.
His strong religious faith and desire to make the world a better place inspired Max to launch a campaign to raise awareness of God’s Fifth Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill.” Thus, he inspired people toward the establishment of permanent and everlasting world peace. This campaign was highly successful and received international recognition in Sydney, Australia in 1988.
Max’s biggest contribution to the community and the one he is most proud of is his formation of the Metropolitan Cebu Junior Jaycees.
