OPEN LETTER by Jules Sanchez

(Editor’s Note: This Open Letter was distributed and read by SAFSI President Jules Sanchez during the Annual General Meeting [AGM] of the Philippine Community Council [PCC])

We, at SAFSI must be heard. We are seniors not only in age but in experience. We are also no fools who should tolerate what is going on.

Hopefully, those who are still muddled up and haven’t got a clue on what is going on, should stop and listen.

1. Some senior elements at PCC have not been up to standards who should have been expected to follow PCC Constitution, thus, enabling a few but noisy minority to wage disharmony, disquiet and causing a lot of angst, anxiety, illegal intrigues and adverse health effects on our own organisation of our dear SAFSI.

2. For goodness sake, I cannot find in PCC Constitution that they have internal jurisdiction in any of us affiliate members.

3. We cannot find in any situation that these some personalities can spend time to abet and assist these “rubble rouser members” to slander, malign, reek with malice and these with PCC can meddle into our SAFSI internal political affairs.

4. At SAFSI, we have our own constitution, so does PCC. We have our due process, instrumentalities and external legitimate institutions for problem solving and seeking of redress. PCC is not one of them.

5. We cannot in conscience tolerate PCC to meddle and muddle and get involved in these intrigues that (I am sorry to say) “Filipinos are noted for, even internationally these bad elements. [There are] a few only, mind you.

6. PCC has much bigger fishes to fry. One of them is the existence of APCO. That is the problem they better concentrate on. This thing with APCO is very embarrassing particularly to [the] Australian community. [I] need not elaborate. I will in due time.

7. You, at PCC claiming that you cannot refuse when you are approached, are playing the “good cop” but are you authorised or even have the capability at Conflict Resolution, Psychiatry, Psychology, Legal and Jurisprudence?

8. So, if you are using your good sense which I now doubt you do not have, you just say to these ‘people’: “We cannot put our own nose into your internal business [because] we are not authorised. Best is to write down what you are alleging (verbally, and in this case are without due foundation nor truth.)

9. We at SAFSI have more details and written accounts that will be revealed in due time. We need an apology and explanation.

(Signed) Jules Sanchez – President of SAFSI

  1. Good PM Mr. Jules Sanchez. I feel the burst of anger in your letter. This is not a healthy sign especially for a senior! I am sure you have been a leader of some other organisation prior to SAFSI. Which one are they? I take it that you are not happy with PCC meddling into your affairs. It is quite understandable. I just hope you are not instigating any SAFSI members to protest which will endanger their health, considering their age. Your organisation is expected to be peaceful, suttle and focused on socializing. Please leave the politicising to the younger ones. And if you’re happy with the labor party performing in your district in terms of business infrastructure, development and senior privileges as compared to other districts, then I can respect your level of understanding. I would not entice you to explore the other option due to your mental and physical capability which can understandably restrict comprehension.
