We have received reports from a number of sources about a certain Filipino aircon technician who represents himself as an employee of COOLFROST. We checked with COOLFROST if they have such an employee in the name of Dante Aducayen but the answer was negative.
We also have strong doubts about his real identity but all our sources have revealed the same name. Aducayen is reportedly a good technician in his mid-60s.
He goes from house to house selling reverse cycle airconditioning and even shows a brochure of COOLFROST. He says that the price includes free installation but requires a deposit of as much as $900.
Because of his age and ability to sell, many people have trusted him.
However, once the deposit is taken, he disappears and never comes back.
He is unknown to the address he gives to his customers.
One such victim is a resident of Windamere Avenue in Woodcroft NSW.
According to another would-be victim, Aducayen made an attempt to borrow money from him. However, he was refused because of prior knowledge that he was allegedly supporting a girlfriend young enough to be his granddaughter. He has reportedly used a 5-star hotel in the Philippines to impress the girl.
A report has been made with the Blacktown Police Department and an investigation is currently on-going. As of press time, we are still waiting for the result of the investigation. It is believed that Aducayen continues to victimize people by knocking door-to-door.
