Columnist appointed member of Ministerial Consultative Committee

communications and advertising graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Miss Benjie de Ubago has recently been appointed a member of the Filipino Ministerial Consultative Committee.

Her appointment was announced by Immigration Minister Chris Bowen, Multicultural Affairs Minister Kate Lundy and Federal Member for Chifley Ed Husic.

Prior to coming to Australia, Miss de Ubago worked with the Department of Public Information in Malacañang Palace, Manila during the Marcos era.

In Sydney, she did Publicity for Channel 9 and 7; was an advertising executive for Leo Burnett Advertising, and was the Promotions Manager for Paddy’s Markets, Sydney Market Authority.

Since then, she established her own company Ideas for Sale and has been very active with various Filipino associations. She also published Filipin-oz Directory and has been for many years, a regular columnist for Philippine Tribune, Philippine Sentinel and Bayanihan News.
