The Bicol Communities League, Inc. will hold on 3 March its seventh annual general meeting under a new constitution which was ratified in Oct. last year.
As revised, the officers will now serve for two years while the tenure of those elected following last year’s AGM has been extended until next year. The current chairperson is Ross Iglesia and the vice chair is Neria Soliman, both from Albay. The secretary is Penny Perfecto of Camarines Sur.
The new charter has synchronised the election of Bicol Inc. officers with the election of two council representatives from each of the six Bicol provinces. The officers are picked from the 12 council members but the chairperson and vice chairperson are pre-allocated to the provinces, on rotation basis, provided that the applicable constitutional requirements are met.
Previously, while the officers sat for only one year, the council members were elected for two years.
The AGM will be held at the P-Noy Lounge on 24-28 First Street, Blacktown, from 1:30pm. Afterwards, the BI members celebrating their birthdays from January to April will be ceremonially feted.
Bicol Inc. will hold a “Dinner & Dance Night to Remember” in Blacktown RSL on 6 April (Saturday). Live music to be provided by the popular M-Seven Band.
Call Ross (0402 205 960), Penny (0419 471 655) or Neria (0404 0411 524) for more information.
