Homes and businesses in Glenwood have now been included in the updated 3-year rollout plan for the National Broadband Network (NBN).
One of the biggest issues residents in Glenwood continually raise with me is the lack of reliable, quality broadband in the area. That’s why I have fought to have Glenwood included in the new rollout cycle which has just been announced.
The NBN is gathering pace in our local area. Not too long ago, I launched the first NBN services in Blacktown and last month, I hauled the first fibre cables in Riverstone as part of the final stages of the construction process.
This is great news for local families and businesses who have been denied access to affordable high-speed broadband for too long.
To give you some idea of the benefits of Labor’s NBN, I encourage you to check out http://howfastisthenbn.com.au/.
Unlike the alternative broadband policy announced by the Liberal Party, access to the Labor Party’s National Broadband Network in our area is FIBRE and it’s FREE. All you need to do is select a retail service provider and the speed that suits your needs (up to 1 Gigabit from December).
Under the Liberals’ plan, you will need to pay up to $5,000 for a fibre connection to your home. The Liberals have also decided that you only need speeds of 25Mbps. ###
