So what are you waiting for? Your future could be an overseas UN post!
This writer chanced upon the above information while searching in the internet for her long-lost batch mate from the University of the Philippines at Los Banos.
You see, a few days ago, to my surprise, this same friend sent me a short email saying she saw my resume in the internet! She’d been working in Afghanistan for the United Nations.
Of course a quick reply was in order! We’ve only exchanged two notes, hers were quite short understandably as she was probably busy and presumably homesick. Yours truly as usual, rambled endlessly about her blissful Sydney life!
As I’ve been left hanging and wanting for more of her adventures in Afghanistan, I’ve started my search again and ended at the website of UNAMA (UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan) which led me to the UN job vacancies.
Further search led me to discover she is also in the meeting site Facebook and learned she had been in Kabul since 2005! She invited me to join her friends’ list and I obliged but she must be so busy I hadn’t heard from her since!
It is truly amazing what you can find in the internet, recession or not!
