Alumnae of St Theresa’s College in Baguio, Cebu, Manila and Quezon City gathered 19 October at Rouse Hill Community Centre for their annual reunion, their number growing with each year since they started.
Seventy former students of the school named after St Theresa of Avila spent five hours catching up with classmates, batch mates and school mates in an event filled with laughter, remembrances and old-fashioned Filipino food.
Carol Alix-Limbo, Minnie Castor, Cathy Cendana, Violet de la Cruz, Rosette Enriquez, Mabel Lope, Malou Palacio, Chic Savet, Chit Serra and Joy Tengco organised the fun-filled day.
The group paid tribute to the oldest living Theresian in Australia, 93-year old Dr. Clemencia Balce Villadiego, through a presentation made by Carol Alix-Limbo. Dr. Villadiego finished high school at STC, Manila in 1936; her daughter Senette Villadiego-Famorca finished college at STC QC in 1970.
St Theresa’s used to run college departments in Cebu, Manila and Quezon City. Today only STC Cebu maintains a college department; STC Manila has closed; while STC QC has retained its high school department.
