The Australia Philippines Services League held its year-end picnic on 26 Oct., bidding farewell at the same time to Filipino defence personnel who underwent training in Australia and returned to the Philippines recently.
Organised by APSL director Mike Onate and wife Eva, the day-long event at Nurragingy Reserve, Blacktown, was a time to relax, catch up, and plan APSL’s participation in forthcoming activities. The Nurragingy Reserve is a recreational facility located in Doonside and Rooty Hill, NSW.
Their conversation threads included comparisons of health insurance benefits, overseas holidays and memories of military life.
APSL secretary Nap Estrada distributed membership forms at the picnic to encourage former service personnel and descendants of veterans to be part of the organisation.
