(In her letter addressed to PCC President Elsa Collado, Solina Lapalma tendered her resignation on December 15 and read it during the Ugnayan Forum for everybody to hear. Her letter is reproduced below.)
Dear Elsa,
It is with much regret that I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Vice President Internal effective immediately, as I no longer want to be a part of the PCC Board 2013.
It has come to the point wherein I have lost total confidence in the current leadership as evidenced by the prolonged unrest within the Board. Neither has the Board been able to resolve the misappropriation issues & the violations to the Fair Trading and Fundraising Rules, which have resulted to a warning from OLGR on PCC, thereby prejudicing the stature of the Council as the peak body of the Filipino community. The inability of the leadership to apply appropriate measures to resolve matters including the issues that caused OLGR’s investigation, has been most disappointing to say the least.
I would like to express my thanks to the Affiliates who have expressed their confidence in me, and to the handful of PCC Officers & Directors who have been supportive of me in my role as Vice President Internal of PCC NSW during my term.
