Yes, this is true. We had an unfortunate encounter with those C-5 squatters last Father’s Day night.
My husband Rey and I and our 1-year old daughter Jana, were driving home around 9:30pm along the centre lane of C-5 southbound lane, in the area between Petron Gas Station and Heritage Park. Two men suddenly crossed very casually and when we were close enough, started to hurl a shirt with something heavy like a rock hidden inside, toward Rey’s window. It was a good thing that Rey was quick enough to swerve our car away to the right, just in time to avoid the attack.
With a baby on board, and being 5-months pregnant myself, it scares us and makes us even angrier to think what could have happened had these guys succeeded with their modus operandi.
It’s pathetic how local officials allowed squatters to proliferate within that area and left C-5 open and vulnerable to all their activities. There was obviously no police presence. The area was dimly lit and anyone can really be a likely and helpless victim to these criminals.
I hate saying, “ingat na lang tayo” (Let’s all be careful) because it’s like we’re just surrendering our family’s fate to fate, when the police and local government JUST NEED TO DO THEIR JOBS.
We will try to post a letter in citizen patrol inquirer, or do whatever we can to somehow “scream” at the police and local officials in that area.
Meanwhile, please do avoid that area whenever you can.
This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost.
..HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really enjoyed what you had
to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
