For purposes of pre-selection, auditions are now being conducted to choose 20 finalists to the Miss Australasian 2014. It is a community outreach pilot project in the form of a beauty pageant with a difference and for a great cause involving young multicultural women aged 18 to 28, all vying for the prestigious title of Miss Australasian.
Set on three consecutive Saturdays, September 6, 13 and 20 from 10am to12noon and 1 to 3pm at North Sydney Leagues Club (12 Abbott St. Cammeray NSW 2016), interested parties may apply directly by visiting the website <www.misssaustralasian.com.au> or make further inquiries and reserve your slot with Artistic Director Dr. Mars Cavestany, 9636 4273 or Stage Manager, Sid Vijan at 0432 952 855.
Produced by Cindy Dionisio, CEO of Miss Australasian & Managing Director of Shape and Glow, the event is essentially a community-based network serving largely Asia-Pacific, Oceania and the wider multiracial clientele. Cognizant of its service areas’ changing demographics, this newly established creative-collective pilot project is tailor–packaged for the target participants’ needs and desires climaxing into a public presentation that address the growing demands of divergent ethnic migrant communities for highly educational but very entertaining cultural undertaking.
Miss Australasian captures and builds upon the people’s propensity for beauty pageants but raising it to a higher level of expectation and significance. The difference lies in the intent and content as it is the organizers’ view to revolutionize the concept of traditional beauty contest by subjecting the pre-selected candidates to an intensive, integrated, and interdisciplinary Theatre Arts, Personality Development, Values Orientation and Social Awareness Program from November 15-20. The Final Event is set on 21 November, 6-9pm at North Sydney League [Club]. Designed by a professionally–trained Creative Team, the pre-pageant workshop taps specially–gifted beautiful young girls, turning them into women leaders who are smarter, more socially and culturally aligned, with sound values thereby creating new, ideal youth models.
