MAS Presents is thrilled to announce that Filipino-Australian beatbox champion and Australia’s Got Talent (AGT) grand finalist Genesis Cerezo will return to the Philippines this month to launch his highly anticipated debut single. He has collaborated with rising Australian singing sensation Shavaun Marie (X-Factor) and DJ Tempo to produce the single “Beat the Box”.
Genesis is the first and only beatboxer to ever make the grand finals of a prime time Australian television show. His meteoric rise to success is a testament to the Filipino-Australian’s amazing talent, faith and charisma. His ability to put multiple sound effects and unique voices in one performance has mesmerized the Australian public. Genesis has captivated a global audience through YouTube videos that had gone viral since the conclusion of AGT.
His love affair with the Philippines was rekindled after a short promotional visit in March 2013. Cerezo got a chance to explore many parts of the city, visit local television networks and meet his adoring fans. After two years, he is finally coming back home to share his music to Filipinos and the rest of the world.
“I am very proud to go back to the Philippines to share my new song. It’s fresh, unique and original! I hope that thru my music, I can inspire the Filipino youth,” says Cerezo.
Cerezo’s single will be independently released behind the MAS/Hoopdreamz label.
He arrives in Manila on March 26, with a scheduled press conference on March 27 in Ortigas and a special performance at Battlegrounds Philippines street dance competition on March 29. He is expected to re-connect with superstars Daniel Padilla, Gary V and the rest of the Showtime and ASAP stars the following week.
