A woman says she has found a needle hidden inside a grape in Melbourne’s west in yet another incident reported to police of sharp objects discovered inside a fruit.
Victoria Police is investigating the matter after a photo posted on Facebook showed a grape with a needle stuck through the middle.
The woman who shared the photo said she purchased grapes from an Aldi supermarket in Caroline Springs and reported the matter to police.
“Please check all your grapes before eating especially if … giving them to your kids,” she wrote.
It is at least the third incident reported to police since September 10.
Victoria Police said anyone found contaminating food products could be charged with a serious indictable offence carrying up to 10 years in jail. Ω
