I read your column “Is Noynoy qualified to be a President?” Allow me to ask you who is your choice? According to you Noynoy has no experience and therefore ineligible to become President. Marcos, Fidel Ramos, Erap Estrada, Gloria Arroyo, Cory Aquino – who among them have experience? Of course, the first four except President Cory. Who among them are the toughest and the brightest? Of course, Marcos because he was a Bar Topnotcher. Second is Arroyo who is a Magna Cum Laude in Economics, and lastly, Fidel Ramos who was a military general and a West Point graduate.
However, even if Erap is an undergrad, he has also lots of experience in government serving for more or less 25 years. But Cory was just a plain housewife. Since you mentioned Noynoy’s inexperience, if he truly deserves to be president, please don’t judge the book by its cover.
For me, whoever gets elected must fix the nation’s problem. We have a large national debt because of rampant corruption in the government. We are called the most corrupt country in Asia. For me, experience is only secondary. We should vote for the least evil candidate. He should be God-fearing and not a thief. – ? VICENTA of Cebu City.
