It was a clean sweep for the Patrician Brothers basketball team as they won in all three categories of the championship games against St. Dominic of Penrith. Indeed, the Patrician players bolstered their school motto of “A healthy mind should go with a healthy body.”
It was the first time in the history of this catholic school to be champions in basketball. Thanks to the strong school support, motivating coaches, and the overwhelming presence of school mates who cheered their team to victory.
The final shot was delivered by Joboy Flores. Like Michael Jordan, he made a jump shot during the closing seconds of the game that clinched the title for his team. They won by one point, 58-57.
The unforgettable event will always remain in the hearts of the students and school officials who were also present during the entire season.
Following the victory of the Patrician basketball teams, the school recognized the players in a simple ceremony. They were likewise featured in “The Focus,” the official Newsletter of Patrician Brothers.
