My Fearless forecast: NOYNOY WILL WIN! by Marie Rea
By the time this paper comes out, the May elections in the Philippines would have been held or is being held. Hence, my final word on this issue as I tried to keep quiet during the campaign season:
Despite what his competitors and detractors say that he’s not as wise, not experienced, etc. etc., NOYNOY (Benigno Aquino III) will still win hands down!
Why? This column believes that other candidates are truly well-educated and have a wealth of experience in politics and even in business. Yes, they are all that and more – Yes, they are smarter perhaps, some are more experienced in cheating and plundering!
Take Estrada, for instance! He has been a convicted criminal who stole millions from the public coffers. Villar himself is tainted due to the C-5 project. Teodoro is with Gloria Arroyo’s administration, an affiliation which is not doing him much benefit because of this government’s atrocious record of inefficiency and corruption charges left and right! Gordon himself has lots of achievements as main man in Olongapo years ago and effective in his Red Cross work. But sadly, he is still connected with the Marcoses. It will take much more than his good record to win the Presidential seat!
I still recall his (Gordon’s) presence and that of Bayani Fernando and even Villar and his daughter at Imelda Marcos’s 80th birthday just months back in an opulent celebration at a five star hotel in Manila!
That clearly establishes his ties with the matriarch of an ill-fated political dynasty which has been the cause of most of the poverty the Philippines today.
Update on the FLIP FLOPS PROJECT:
More thanks to my yoga teacher Etsuko for 14 pairs of flip flops (new & used) for adults and kids; Marco Meneses, my former student from Bloomfield Academy who’s sending more than 60 pairs of footwear this month from the USA. There are more people to thank, they know who they are!
We plan to give the Sierra Madre folks in Bulacan some footwear, stuffed toys, food and school supplies contained in three boxes that we sent last March via Austral Cargo. I paid for the cost of freight and handling fees for those in the relocation centres in Barangay Langkiwa, Binan, Laguna. We sent 130 flip flops and stuffed toys. It must be noted that we’ve given 60 pairs last March to those in Montalban, Rizal, an indigenous community in Brgy. Puray in the Sierra Madre Mountains.
Please keep up the support as we identify more groups to help in the Philippines and the homeless in the greater Western Sydney Area. To nominate a group, certain conditions must be met. Photos or videos, plus details of the intended recipients must be sent. For more information on our project, visit our website
The Overseas Pinoys Care Movement is now under the GLOBAL CITIZENS CARE MOVEMENT which has members in over 20 countries around the globe. Yours truly is the founder/administrator.
Remember, LESS TALK, MORE ACTION! If only the politicians, here and in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world will follow this, more things will be accomplished! Cheers!
