The Mapua Alumni Australia, Inc. (MAA) held its 2nd Annual Induction of the 2010 Directors and new members on April 24, 2010 at the Crystal Seafood Restaurant at Westpoint Blacktown. The Guest of Honour and Inducting Officer was Engr. Gliceria Cabrera Estrella, Adviser and Past President of the National Association of Mapua Alumni (NAMA) who arrived from the Manila on the same day just to grace the occasion. In her inspirational message, she emphasized that each one should contribute his own share for the success of the association, and that there is no letter “I” in Team Work.
Elsa Collado, the President of PCC-NSW introduced the newly-elected directors and new members to Engr. Estrella before the induction ceremonies. In her congratulatory speech, Elsa mentioned the achievements of many Mapua Alumni throughout the world acknowledging their excellence in the field of engineering and information technology.
The MAA vision is to be a catalyst for society’s betterment and progress through involvement in scholarship and educational projects, cultural exchange, dissemination of and undertaking of civic activities. In line with this, Odi Susi, the Vice President, with the concurrence of the newly elected Board of Directors, launched the scholarship project. Fund raising has been initiated by voluntary contributions from the public.
The Inducted Officers for 2010 are: President, Leonardo Kalinisan; Vice President, Rodolfo Susi; Secretary, Rosalie Ouano; Treasurer, Daniel Gregorio; Auditor, Celedonia Uvero; PRO, Ferdinand Francisco; Directors are: Ninoy Batara, Roderick Buenaventura, Maria Milagros Gregorio, Mario Potestades and Randy Tangonan. Adviser and Immediate Past President is Mauricio de Vera.
