The Philippine Community Council of NSW (PCC-NSW) will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on 11 September 2010. The event kicks off at 6.30pm and will be held at Blacktown RSL Club at Second Avenue, Blacktown.
To mark this milestone, the current board of the PCC-NSW extends its invitation to the community. The members of the board specifically want to contact all those who have served in PCC.
“Some have moved and we no longer have their contact details. We hope they contact us because we’d really love to see them. It will be an evening of appreciation, gratitude and celebration,” says incumbent PCC President Elsa Collado.
“We’d like to have the opportunity to thank all our supporters and all those who have given their precious time in service of the community. To them, we owe a debt of gratitude for helping make PCC what it is today,” she adds.
The PCC-NSW is considered the peak Filipino organization and has been recognized by both Philippine and Australian government officials over the last 20 years.
Like any organization, the PCC-NSW has had teething problems as well as its highs and lows. It has somehow managed to weather the storms and remains the peak organization serving the best interests of the Filipino community in NSW. There have been other organizations established in the seventies and the eighties with the same intentions but have simply fizzled out. “We’re still standing after 20 years and that alone should be celebrated,” said Collado.
The 20th Anniversary celebrations will highlight the most memorable moments and achievements of the previous years. It promises to be a night to remember.
