Aguman Capampangan of Australia Inc. (ACAI) will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on 30 October 2010 at Blacktown RSL, Blacktown.
To assist in the anniversary celebrations, Pampanga Governor Eddie Panlilio will be flying into Sydney to grace the occasion.
Former Governor Panlilio, who is being flown courtesy of Philippine Airlines, gained his reputation when he crossed the line of church and state to run as governor of Pampanga, vowing to stomp out corruption. His transition from priesthood to become the 26th governor of Pampanga in May 2007 brought along controversy and saw his suspension from his 15-year ministry. However, he was determined to run for office to lead the way for a “new dawn in Philippine Politics.”
He tended to the victims of Mt. Pinatubo eruption and also spearheaded a micro-lending program which paved the way for him to be named “Filipino of the Year” in 2007 by the Daily Enquirer.
“Among Ed” (as Panlilio is popularly called) will no doubt add glitter to the Aguman event. He will also be attending other functions during his stay in Sydney.
The Capampangans have been active in promoting the provinces of Pampanga and Tarlac. They were first in staging the ‘Food Festival’ featuring the many tastes of the region and over the years, have maintained scholarship projects for the area.
Aguman Capampangan celebrates its 20th Anniversary of existence in Australia and the invitation is extended to the Filipino community. For ticket enquiries contact Marivic Manalo on 0402 354 853. – ?
